Helena had stayed up late, drawing. She slept until early afternoon, waking up still groggy.
That's probably why she didn't notice at first that she was taller. She attributed her clumsiness to too much sleep. She also didn't seem to notice that her hair was shorter, though, to be fair, it wasn't much shorter. It wasn't until she rubbed her face and found stubble did she worry.
Tripping over her now-ridiculously long legs, she fell on the way to the bathroom mirror. "Bollocks!" She paused, then spoke again. "This isn't right. I sound like a man!" Her voice had dropped a couple octaves in her sleep. She must have a cold.
All those hopes were dashed when she got to a mirror. She was definitely taller--nearly a quarter-meter taller, if she had to guess. Her hair was almost the same, if a little curlier. But the main problem was that she was a man. A rather cute man, she noticed. Her eyes went wide as she realized what other appendages she'd acquired. Biting her lip, she slid her hand into her too-short sleeping trousers. Yep. Definitly a man.
"Oh, bollocks," she repeated.
